Are You Paying too Much for Art Supplies?

Are You Paying too Much for Art Supplies?

Are YOU paying too much for art supplies? Well, if you’re buying them at your local big box art store then chances are pretty good that you’re paying too much. I can’t tell you how many times I have asked students why they purchased a particular product, and I always get the same response, “It’s all they had.”

My response of course, is to inquire why they didn’t purchase the products online. The products at your local big box art retail store are higher than prices online - almost always (unless you’re just purchasing a single item with a 50-60% off coupon). The only time I ever purchase anything at a local big box store is if they have a great buy on canvases. I purchase everything else at jerrysartarama.com or dickblick.com.

Online prices are less and delivery is usually free if you spend $45 - I’ve never made an art supply purchase that was under $45! The best thing about purchasing your art supplies online is that there is a nearly unlimited variety of products and price points from which to choose.

The best way to save the most money on your supplies is to sign up for the weekly (daily) emails. There are many special deals that are often for email recipients only. Many times I’ll save 45% on certain products - not just on a single item.

If you’ve never purchased art supplies online, then give it a go. I think you’ll be happy with the selection and the prices.
