The Painting of "Coastal Life 3"
Watching other artists paint is often very educational. That's the reason workshop instructors paint demonstration paintings during workshops; sometimes to show specific techniques or illustrate concepts outlined in group discussions. Students say that often it is one of the highlights of the day.
I remember the first time I ever saw an artist do a full painting demonstration live - I was mesmerized. It was so helpful seeing how they manipulated the brush, paint and substrate to create a beautiful work of art. I am now mesmerized by my own painting process. Often when I create a new painting I step back to look at it and say to myself "Where did that come from?" Making art is an amazing event to participate in, so I hope you enjoy this video.
This painting is part of a series entitled "Coastal Life." For me it communicates the beach and the ocean. In it I can feel the hot sand and the warm breeze, and hear the rhythmic pounding of the waves. Come along and share in the experience.
