The Painting of "Darkness Won't Win"

The Painting of "Darkness Won't Win"

For this painting I am using a 48x48x1.5" square canvas. My intention is to use mostly black, white and gray with a bright red center of interest that snakes across the canvas. I have no plan other than the color combination.

I use the black paint right out of the jar. Later in the video I use a palette knife to scrape white paint out of a gallon jug and put it right on the canvas.

I also get a little silly with some dancing throughout. I typically edit those scenes out, but many of you said you'd like to see them, so be prepared. The dancing around helps me stay loose and not worry about the end result. It keeps me in the moment, and helps me enjoy the process of spending time in the studio.
